Melika Azimi is an Iranian-Australian filmmaker based in Sydney, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Screen Arts: Production from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), where she specialised in screenwriting, producing, and cinematography. She is currently studying a Master of Arts Screen: Business at AFTRS, further deepening her understanding of the creative and commercial landscape of the screen industry.

As a writer-director, Melika is driven by a fascination with time and the complexities of the human psyche; crafting films that delve into nuanced psychological depths. Her most recent work, an AFTRS graduation short film, "The Colour of Black", explores into the psychological struggles of a migrant, Persian woman mourning the life she lost as she risks everything for a distant love. The film has earned the AFTRS Women in Cinematography Graduation Prize, sponsored by Sony and is currently having its festival run.

Outside of directing, Melika is also passionate producing and shooting. She worked as the producer on “Thornton”, a proof-of-concept short that screened at the Brisbane International Film Festival 2024 ahead of the feature "The Dead Don’t Hurt". Additionally, her cinematography on “Our Inked Identity”, which was selected for the Antenna Film Festival 2024, earned her the AFTRS Women in Cinematography Scholarship, sponsored by Sony, previously streaming on SBS On Demand.
